2020 Bike Clinics

Bike Basics

Date: January 14 or February 11th, 2020

Cost: $50.00 (paid upon arrival)

 

Location: Two Wheel View #101, 1725 10th Ave SW, Calgary

 

Objectives:

  • Understand the basic anatomy of a bike and develop your bicycle vocabulary

  • Begin to diagnose a bike when it isn’t working properly

  • Provide clarity around what can be tuned “at home” and when a local bike shop is your best option

  • Develop basic bike mechanic skills (i.e. changing a flat tire, adjusting brakes, maintaining your bike)

 

Demo bikes provided for clinic exercises.  Just bring yourself and a curiosity to learn!

Trail/Road-Side Repair

Date: Jan 28th or Feb 25th, 2020

Cost: $50.00 (paid upon arrival)

Objectives:

  • Empower participants to go for rides with confidence that if something goes wrong with their bike they can diagnose and repair it to get themselves home safely

  • Fix a flat - tubes vs. tubeless

  • Repair a broken chain

  • Trail-side true a wheel

  • Adjust shifting

  • Develop a routine for a pre-ride inspection

  • Develop the ability to assess one’s own bike and identify what may or may not be working properly

 

Demo bikes provided for clinic exercises. Just bring yourself and a curiosity to learn!

Join us for a free, fun and friendly introduction to winter cycling by Calgarians, for Calgarians!

Our panel will share their experiences and tips to keep you cycling year-round.

 

Please bring a mug for a warm drink!

Please note: We accept bike donations from Monday-Friday 10am-5pm. We ask a suggested donation of $5 per bike to help with parts and fixing up the bikes.
