#Spokes-person profile- Molli Bennett

October 13, 2020

My name is Molli and I am primarily a commuter cyclist and bike mechanic but I a dabble in multiple types of recreational cycling. I am passionate about sharing my love for bicycles with young people, especially those who don't see themselves represented in the mainstream portrayal of cyclists. I believe in the power of bicycles, simple machines that can transform our lives. I have found a home as the Community Programs Coordinator at Two Wheel View.

Biking has given me

Transportation, a sense of freedom, an amazing outlet for my worries and so much bliss.

Who is a  rider in your community who inspires you?

Parents who ride with children inspire me, particularly mothers. Anytime I see families riding together, not just for pleasure but for daily commutes and errands, my heart is warmed. It gives me so much hope for the future of our city.

What brought you into the biking community?

A desire to get around when I did not own a car and a passionate family member who helped me acquire a bicycle. Getting my hands on a great bike really helped and that's part of the reason I love the Two Wheel View Earn-a-Bike program so much.  The immense joy and sense of empowerment it gave me is what inspired me to keep riding. The community support and connections I've made only deepen my desire to never stop.
