Working together to reach their destination

May 15, 2015

This TWVTrip has 10 youth and one teacher from the Morley First Nation on route to Quebec with Rick, Sasha and Jonny from Two Wheel View. In Montreal they will meet up with Anne-Marie, coordinator of the brand new TWV Montreal, and 9 students from Montreal and bike the famous Route Verte in Quebec. In June the Quebec group will come to Alberta and the entire team will ride from Calgary to Banff. Thanks to YMCA Youth Exchanges Canada for their support of this opportunity.

St Jean Sur Richelieu to Lacolle

Our second day of biking was also in extreme weather.  This time, however, instead of rain, we had wind blowing so hard in our faces, we actually had to get off our bikes and walk them!  It was a crazy day, but we all got through it and had a great sleep.   On this day, we travelled just under 50km, so it was another large push to get though it.  For lunch, we stopped in a small town.  The boys from Alberta and Quebec joined forces to play a friendly game of soccer.  We arrived for our first night of camping in Lacolle, set up our tents and made some pasta to fill us up after a long long ride.

We had some mental and physical challenges to overcome, but everyone, helped each other persevere.
