Rick and Tanya McFerrin [2009-2010 - ON THE ROAD FOR 1-YEAR]-
Calgary, Alberta, Canada: [Rick, Norway 2004, 2008;
2009: Argentina 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007; 2008, 2009 Catalonia
2006] Rick and Tanya founded Two Wheel View after returning
from a 2-year bicycle adventure around the world. Both
have more than 20 years of professional experience
working in education and outdoor recreation. Rick has
a MBA in international management; certifications in
Wilderness First Aid, Lifeguarding and Water Safety;
and language proficiency in Spanish, Norwegian, Danish
and French. Tanya is a professional day-care provider
and outdoor education instructor. They have biked over
15,000 miles in more than 40 countries. Rick and Tanya and family are currently on a one-year bike trip from Calgary to Mexico or maybe even S. America with their three sons: Sampson

Phil Lucero - 2009-2010 International Trip Program Director: Albuquerque,
New Mexico: [Argentina 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009] Phil is
a native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a teacher
and youth advocate on many levels in his community. He
has worked in a variety of fields, ranging from substance
abuse prevention to wilderness education to teaching
filmmaking and photography. Phil is also the
co-founder of Trips for Kids: Rio Grande. Phil
currently resides in sunny Albuquerque where he enjoys
300 sunny days a year!! The ideal climate for
his three biggest interests: mountain biking, BBQing,
and playing with his dog Wally. |

Jackie Mann – Executive Director: (Argentina 2009, 2010, Norway 2010) Calgary, Alberta: Jackie is a native Calgarian. She has lived allover Canada and in the Middle East. Jackie has a background in youth education and travel, as well as sexual health education. A local activist, Jackie is passionate about creating positive changes in her community. She is a founding member of the Good Life Community Bicycle Shop and an active member and volunteer in her community, organizing self-esteem building programs for young women and teens, cycling initiatives, and various other community building projects. She has 10 years of youth experience and a lifetime of adventure experience. Jackie loves to explore the world on bike, ski, snowboard, feet, and sometimes bus. She is living in Calgary and bikes all year round, even in the snow. |

Elaine Desnoyers – Calgary,
Alberta [Argentina 2008, Norway 2008] Elaine
works as a family physician. While in medical school,
she managed to incorporate travel into a few of her
electives as international medicine in Thailand,
South Africa and Costa Rica. Her first trip with
Two Wheel View was to Argentina in 2008. Elaine balances
her professional life with her interest in travel
and taking time to learn Spanish, French, and of
course, the harmonica! |

Matt Axling - Seattle,
Washington: [Norway 2004, Argentina 2003] Matt coordinates
outdoor recreation programs for the City of Seattle.
Previous to living in Seattle he spent four years
running experiential education and wilderness leadership
programs in Albuquerque New Mexico. He is the co-founder
of Trips for Kids Albuquerque and teaches paraplegic
skiers in the Adaptive Ski Program in Santa Fe. Matt
has traveled and lived extensively throughout Latin
America and speaks Spanish. When not working, Matt
enjoys mountain biking, hiking, skiing and traveling. |

Stephanie Stephens -
Chicago, Illinois: [Argentina 2004] Stephanie teaches
history to high school students in Chicago. She makes
international travel a priority and has visited Greece,
England, Italy and Iceland in the past few years
and lived in Romania as a Peace Corp Volunteer. She
enjoys combining her interests in outdoor recreation
and cross-cultural exchanges. |

Teton Science School; Spinning Fitness Instructor,
Boys & Girls Club of Shiprock -Wellness Center;
Co-founder of Trips for Kids - Shiprock Chapter;
Certifications in Wilderness First Aid, Colorado
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, and American
Heart - CPR, WEMT. Interests: Mountain Biking, Backpacking,
X-Country Skiing, Snowshoeing, Hiking and Bike repair. |

Renee Swanson -
St. Paul, Minnesota: [Norway 2004] Renee is a recent
graduate of the University of Minnesota and is also
the mother of Adam and Clair. Renee enjoys bicycling
as a hobby and has both regional and international
cycle touring experience. |

Cassie Benson & Tito
(Tony) Stafford - Norfolk, Virginia: [Argentina 2008 (Cassie & Tito),
Argentina 2009 (Cassie)] Cassie is currently pursuing
her Masters in Social Work at Norfolk State University
while Tito is working in the Outdoor Recreation Department
at Old Dominion University and pursuing a PhD in Higher
Education Administration. Prior to moving to Virginia,
Cassie and Tito worked at the Cornstalk Institute in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. Cornstalk is a youth development
organization providing experiential education and wilderness
programming to youth ages 11 - 18. Tito is also an
Outward Bound instructor (Discovery Program) and he
leads youth and adult groups on backcountry canoe expeditions.
They are avid travelers and spent the second half of
2008 and the first half of 2009 traveling in 6 different
countries in South America where they also got engaged.
Cassie & Tito enjoy traveling, backpacking, biking,
hiking, camping, and spending time with family and
friends. They are always up for a road trip and both
have fake teeth they like to wear to scare small children
(haha just kidding). We are very excited to be trip
leaders for this awesome organization! |
